when i saw that my last post was on the 7th of April i have to say i was pleasantly surprised. It had only been 3 wks! I almost felt like eternity since i last came to this window and actually do something to it. The last 3 wks were spent waking up, studying, sleeping and waking up studying sleeping. thOugh my exams are still rather far off, i prefer to do consistent work as compared to cramming all stuff in at one shot. I am also busy with building this radio receiver which is so cool, it is nothing compared to an iPod of course but still at least it picks up a channel. half an hour later i will be leaving to study in school, i will blog again.

Finally back from my spain trip.. sunshine, sea, sand, good food, beautiful buildings, friendly people are all that i found when i was down there. The laid back lifestyle, the late dinners, the relaxed culture deeply attracted me.. Also not forgetting to mention my wonderful travelling buddies william jianyuan and sengchoon, it was great fun and my bridge standard improved exponentially throughout this trip when these 3 great players come together.

First stop was barcelona in which we stayed for 4days.. we got really lucky down there when we got an apartment to stay in.. it was so comfortable that we left house at 12 plus everyday and come back early at night to rest. loads of relaxation in barcelona and we went off for madrid on a 4th day..

Next stop is madrid, it was quite a chui hostel in which we had to share a room wif 2 other people, however there was free breakfast and free internet so it is still pretty convenient. FOod in madrid was fantastic!! we ate loads of tapas for dinner everyday and had mussels and calamari every night.. simply fabulous.

Went to valencia next, spent the one day down there at the beach.. chilling out and eating a final meal of paella.. there was rabbit meat inside..nice.. damn nice.. love this trip man.. feeling the lingering feeling of the trip.. oh well back to reality and to glasglow next.

another end of term.. hectic radio design, wayang computer programming, tonnes of tutorial now go backstage for this short period of rest time i reward myself. As i don't think about work.. i begin to catch up with life and think about issues that have long been shelved and shoved aside by formulas and equations. I checked out sharon's blog.. checked out huihuang's blog.. i feel so left out of all my good friend's life.. not saying that i want to be a major part of it in the first place.. it's just having to get updated by reading blogs and them not knowing that i even know it is .. distant.. at least i am pretty close to miran's life..

choices.. when one makes a choice.. people either gain from it.. or just become victims.. the more choices u have to make... the more burden u have to carry on ur back.. its not that i don't consider people's positions when i decide on something, it is just a process of me trying to satisfy people but at the same time not disadvantaging myself.. so... lesson is decide and stick to it! no mr nice guy..

this wkend was superbly fantastic! friday started with a EEE potluck at evelyn gardens, it was a fun night with loads of good food and drinks.. followed by a few rounds of poker and later clubbing.. went to this place called thai square which had free entry for ladies and blardie 10 pounds for guys. damn sian, but at least the music was pretty good and the crowd not bad.. well, one thing is for sure, if i were to go clubbin again, make sure 1) the people u go with.. won't leave u feeling awkward hanging around them in the end 2) drink enough, the drinks inside thai sq are like water. ok that's the two main considerations, the rest is damn fun. hahaha. saturday was a visit to camden market and then poker at evelyn gardens again, not forgetting to mention foosball in which i think i am getting the hang of. wooT! damn fun must do that again sometime..

next up.. SPAIN!

You Are a Sprinkled Donut

Flamboyant and flashy, you're easily distracted by shiny things.
You're definitely a snazzy number, and you usually catch everyone's eye in the room.
And you've got the goods to back it up your colorful image.
(Though too much of you gives people a stomach ache!)
What Donut Are You?

practise

as usual the crazy EEE guys ( check out me and wig)

A wonderful night for all performers and audiences alike, it was filled with laughters and 'awws' and 'oohs' for the dancers and singers. Applause filled the mdh like it never did before. YEAH! 24@SG was a success, all the uncertainties, the uneasiness everyone had before the play dissolved when it started. Except for a few technical glitches, everyone who performed gave a perfect performance of what was expected of them. It was a fantastic night.

My dance was modern dance, my partner was sanmay, haha she looks ravishing that night, as the case with all the girls that night. Everyone looked fantastic. The dance went very well i think and we received good comments offstage. The euphoria after the performance was shown on everyone's faces, however there was no celebration due to it being a sunday and everyone having early lessons the next day. I hope there is a post celebration though.

Once this major event is over, it is back to work again. Radio design document and lab orals.. once these stuff is over.. i am FREE! yoohoo spain beckons.

Here are some photos of that night and rehearsals.

Super short day in school, only 2 lectures and the day is over, stayed in school and finished up my computing project and a few questions on analogue electronics tutorial.

In the evening was a short presentation of the IG Nobel Prize which was quite a bit of fun. IG Nobel Prizes are given to scientists who came up with interesting research papers that generally raises laughs first then sets people thinking about the implications of research. I have to say some of them i cannot see beyond my imagination its far reaching effects. For example, there was this guy who published a paper on why woodpeckers won't have headaches although they knock their head against wood at a rate of 30 times per second.. it even analyse how some medieval helmets can mimick the shape of the woodpecker's head.

Another interesting invention goes to this guy who came up with a 'MOSQUITO' device that emitts a high frequency noise that only young people can hear. It works on the principal that the noise is at the upper band of the youngsters hearing range. As a person ages their hearing range decreases and therefore they can't hear. In the great hall itself when the device was playing, i personally can't hear it but it is amazing that people around me are raising their hands and detecting something that i can't. There is also a mosquito ringtone that arose in which only youngsters can hear and not older people.. so in a way youngpeople can all play that ringtone in front of their teachers in class. There was also a guy who publised a paper that concluded that a type of duck is homosexual necrophilic coz he saw two male ducks outside his house one day. One of the ducks flew and crashed into his house window and laid down there dead, the other male duck seized the chance and start to rape the dead duck. He was able to catch the whole process becoz the whole raping process lasted for 75 mins! hahaha ducks are good man.

It was a very fun evening listening to intellectuals doing stuff like this and i do feel very light hearted after it.. oh well a good way to get me into holiday mood
