it had really been a long time since i last update this blog, i am sorry to say, i had been quite busy and didn't really spend the time to sit down and type out an entry. anyway today i am feeling the need to pen down my feelings somewhat.. it had been a long day in school and i really am in no mood to do anything beside relaxing and chilling out.. anyway i studied hard today.. and i don't see the need to be so overtly stressed.. Yup.. anyway, life in school has officially begun to get hectic, with a few deadlines coming up, and lectures that i don't seem to understand even though i honoured it by being present in it. hahaa, but it's ok.. i will try to catch up, so far i don't really feel that i am lagging behind by a lot anyway.
today is halloween! happy halloween to everyone, the only celebration was a movie event with singsoc in one of the lecture theatres in chem eng building, hahaa nothing much except watching a damn scary movie the exorcist. it kinda give me the creeps when walking home after it.. but at least i came back in one piece.. hahaha when i walked home the temperature was 8 deg outside.. damn cold man.. almost couldn't feel my fingers.. and it was windy too! it is not good feeling like a piece of frozen meat. i just hope 0 deg doesn't come too soon. the thicker the jacket the heavier it is.. yup. haha
talked to miran.. i really appreciate the fact that she always stays up so late to talk to me.. it's either she wakes up early and i stay up late to talk.. or she stays up very late so that we can chat... i appreciate that she stays up so late to chat.. but i want her to be in her best state of health. i personally gone thru the process of devastating my body with minimal sleep and i don't want her to go through it. oh well.. we'll take it one step at a time.. we had a short discussing on her exchange program.. but it turned sour and almost to the brink of argument.. oh well.. i guess both of us had long days each. that's the reason why emotions ran high.. i don't mean to hurt you.. everything i said is meant to be positive.. not to be taken the other way around.
oh, last saturday was spent going to alton towers, it is one of the most famous theme parks situated north of the village alton in staffordshire. it was a day filled with adrenaline and loads of thrills and not to mention a fantastic round of fireworks to round off the night. some rides worth mentioning are sky, rita, oblivion and river rapids.. these are definitely up to standard and worth doing over again, tho i didn't.. one thing about oblivion is that it is a vertical drop for a length of around 30 metres.. the sadistic part of this ride is that it sends u up slowly.. makes u go one round on top.. and dangles u at the edge.. while giving u a peek-a-boo at the bottom which u will be falling to in no time... hahaa super fun! rita was a speed ride in which u get accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.. the sheer adrenaline u get from it is enough to keep u going for the rest of the day! haha loads of fun.. reached home at midnight and immediately concussed.

the previous day, a friday was ended with a good 1 and a half hrs of gym plus a round of cider at harringtons, part of destressing program that i entitled myself to.. with myself feeling super tired.. i went down to floorball the next day followed by visiting tower of london.
YAY! my floorball stick is gonna arrive in no time, feels good to have a stick of your own, yup anyway tower of london is great.. majestic place.. full of history and all.. but the history is a lot of treason and trechery so.. i guess humans are fan jian thats why. a very nice place with names for all the different towers inside, namely the white tower, bloody tower and many many more. they all have their names with a reason, for example the bloody tower was named because of a conspiracy concerning the murder of 2 princes. it was quite cool that there is a voting system inside the tower that asks visitors to poll in who do they think killed the princes, or is it just 2 young mischievous boys went out and got themselves killed by some big bad wolf.. i went for the latter anyway.. think that is funny enough. haha oh neglected to mention, the beef eaters as we call them, are actually yeoman warders, the origin of the name beef eaters are told to us but i forgot.. anyway they are so called the warders of the castle and they have been living there for centuries generations after generations.
wandering around the tower of london until 5 plus, we went out and visited the tower bridge which was around the vicinity. very majestic bridge, the nicest i have seen so far i think, sometimes old ppl says that the length of bridges they walked surpass the length of roads that youngsters walk.. but.. as they grow older, they walk slower.. young people still walk very fast.. how can that be possible! talk cock.. and unless they walk bridge up and down up and down everyday for leisure and entertainment, they can never accomplish this feat, at least compared to me.. the mileage i clock on bridges ain't short too! hahaha oh after a whole hr of taking a photo every 10 steps from tower bridge , we finally reached london bridge.. despite the glamorous images that i had when i heard the name london bridge, it turned out quite disappointing. it was pretty ordinary. anyway i will find out more abt the history and post a blog on it. london bridge is supposed to have more history i thInk..
anyway today is sunday, i decided not to give fellwanderers a go and stay home to study, been slacking for so many days already i feel a bit scared, better at least prepare for lab tomorrow. oh well. i am tired too.. i miss home. blardie .. oh, i cook pretty decent potato soup too. hahaa
cheers

tonight i really feel like blogging, need somewhere to pen down my thoughts. my questions will most prob be left unanswered, but i need to write it down somewhere. a pretty uneventful day with the morning being occupied with floorball and the gym induction session. the gym is way cool..
afternoon was spent playing dota with bro.. frankly speaking.. it was a damn enjoyable session. i haven't touched dota for 2 wks.. it is quite refreshing to play.
later on at night was the EE potluck at cromwell street where everyone whipped up a delicacy and brought it down to eat.. due to my lack of culinary skills i simply oven baked some pizza and bought chips down to the flat.. but the pizza is a bestseller so no complaints! a routine round of introduction followed by multiple rounds of bridge amongst the freshers..
end of it all.. came a lengthy chat with william talking abt his feelings, things like how he feel at night, the emotional issues stemming out of lonliness, his words struck a chord within all of us... and it resonates inside me.. it all sounds so familiar.. i seem to be looking at a replicate of myself. now the question comes.. am i doing enough to preserve this relationship? is my decision to not go back during december a misjudgement and overestimation on my own part? i just want to experience more, and maybe start going back when i truly am sick of the new stuff that is happening around me.. i am definitely doing what i can to preserve the relationship right now. insignificant each day's conversation may be.. but i hold it dear to my heart.. hurtful words i hurled unrelentingly at miranda is simply a self defense mechanism to make myself feel more worthwhile, i don't mean anything i say, i regret saying anything that bad once i said it.. darling please forgive me. i love u.. the fact that a lot of people are heading back to singapore is not helping much with consoling my feelings.. now it is too late to head back, most prob i will be placed on the waiting list.. darling please forgive me for making this decision, it is not the easiest decision to make.. it had been 2 wks so far.. the saddest of days was the day after reaching london... after that i had been so caught up with work that i haven't slowed down and try to talk to the inner me.. the feelings that are dying to get out.. as the days go by.. i may not have as much time to webcam and talk anymore, i will definitely miss these times that we talk.. i want to get stronger.. i need to get stronger than i am.. i am just a flaw.. i must be strong for the good of everyone.. be strong..

yOyoYo, been a few weekdays since i last blog, it is not easy to blog while ur mind is trying hard to understand what the triangle means inside the circuit. oh this week's lectures are basically introductory lectures to the different modules that i am gonna take. as compared to the bidding system that NUS and NTU adopts.. Imperial does not have a system like this. instead what is employed is simply like JC, they fix what they deem fit for u to study and you simply attend the lectures and tutorials!
anyway, lab on monday had been pretty overwhelming but i think i am getting the hang of it.. reading the oscilloscope and all.. the rest of the lessons are pretty standard too, maths, analysis of circuits.. new concepts just take some time to disgest. a pretty good week i shall say, long days on monday, tues and thurs. wed was ended with a good afternoon of floorball.. i shall say i am really enjoying myself! haha good stuff! ok.. till my next blog then..

woke up super early and made my way down to aldsgate east station.. took a wrong tube at earls court.. i don't understand how a simple district line can move in 4 different directions at the same station.. and they come on the same platform too.. blardie cool.. anyway i managed to reach aldsgate in time..
after a while of hollandness, finally we arrived at bricklane market where i bought a few essential items such as shower gel and a jacket.. it is simply the same as a pasar malam in singapore, where things go at cheaper prices than departmental stores but u gotta consider whether the things are genuine or not.. anyway there is this underground system of selling bicycles down there in which young punks will stroll their bikes around and try to get whoever is interested to buy.. good bikes that cost around 100 pounds are going for 30 down there.. blardie punks steal bikes and sell them .. but never mind i am the one benefiting so i aint' complaining..
ended the day early yesterday.. went back and cooked myself a pot of porridge.. rice here in uk don't really absorb water well.. so my porridge wasn't that succulent.. but nevertheless it is hot and edible.. that's what really matters.. prison break madness!! i keep watching it.. it is really nice... well i will be damn sad when it ends... there was a meeting to set out some terms and conditions for the apartment.. well i gotta pay an extra 2.5 wks worth of rent for sept.. and the whole of oct.. amounted to 955 pounds including 465 deposit.. well.. it's ok. just get the payments done first.. keeps my mind off it at least.. we decided to cook for ourselves for the time being.. meaning.. we share the essentials like oil.. rice... soy sauce and stuff.. but we don't cook together everyday.. toiletries are also shared.. like toilet paper and everything.. i guess down here we have to not be too calculating in order to relax a bit.. otherwise everything is gonna be hell.. i am here to study.. other things just be relaxing a bit.. yup..

morning was started off with a fun filled morning at hyde park, in which singsoc organised a picnic for all the freshers and seniors, sports was played.. other than the fact that track shoes should only be worn on track, slippery grass and a little bit of mud.. everything was perfectly enjoyable. I played floorball and ultimate frisbee the whole morning, glad to be sweating some water out of my body, i think i need to get my blood flowing, the low temperatures here in london made me stagnant and slack..
one comment about hyde park.. it is simply beautiful, with the sun shining above the sky, temperatures are a comfortable 15 deg i estimate, the skating and cycling scene is simply breath taking. swans and pigeons are free to roam around the park and rowing can be done on serpantine lake.. will love to visit it with love ones someday. it will mean so much.. the first thing i pictured when i reach and saw is to skate down hyde park with miran. hahaa yup.. i'll bring my skates soon.
left hyde park around 1pm.. went down to leicester square to meet william and fengyi to check out chinatown.. well i dunno if it can be called chinatown coz i see loads of jap and korean stuff down there, anyway to the ang mohs, all asians are alike.. i got people telling me arigato when they can simply say hello! idiots them... yeah chinatown
is pretty nice to walk around, with a large variety of foodstuff to purchase albeit at astronomical prices.. one bottle of preserved caixin that cost maybe 50 cents in sg cost 1 pound plus here.. power.. we basically covered the whole of chinatown in half an hr, i guess it sld be called chinahouse or something.. but it is nice to see asians as the majority on the street and not ang mohs..
oh well, around 3 we were pretty much bored i guess, so william called 2 of his international hall mates down, wenying and stephanie to bring us around, wenying have been here for 2 yrs odd so she's the lao jiao of the place.. we went to trafalgar's square and had tonnes of fun there. this square is really breathtaking.. not as big as tiananmen but still decorated with its fair share of statues and nice scenery.. took quite a bit of photos and also had pigeons ate from my head and hands... good experience!
next stop is picadilly circus where i bought a pair of boots from lilywhites, i need it for ultimate frisbee so might as well invest.. and the morni
ng experience with the grass in hyde park thought me to invest in something that i can run in on grass.. oh well.. it is 15 pounds.. why not? dinner was a meal of curry chicken, lamb curry and sambal squid with no sambal.. well at least it was spicy and enjoyable.. .. yup..
tiring day.... last thought of the day.. stop being so stubborn and open up.. i miss home

today is the official egg race.. basically what we do is to launch off our own aerocars and we will measure how far it flies.. anyway my grp's aerocar didn't launch at all.. it kinda got stucked at the end of the ramp.. well who really cares anyway..
after this 'race' i decided to chill inside the com lab in the department and just kinda use email or something.. just to kill time.. no mood to go home first at all.. living in an apartment sometimes has its disadvantages.. u feel so bored at times... anyway the UK keyboard's @ is starting to be quite a nuisance, i am so used to typing it wif SHIFT+2 this time i gotta type with shift+' that's the difference.. but it just takes a bit of getting used to.
tonight will be kinda like spring cleaning in which i and jimmy will be moving beds, vacuuming the room and shifting cupboards.. yeah..that's it.. gotta eat more for dinner tonight!
yeah my room is pretty much finished.. everything's great.. go
t enough space and 2 beds side by side.. really good stuff.. after the shifting of furniture.. jimmy brought out this mooncake game that originates from xiamen.. the rules go like this.. there are a lot of mooncakes and biscuits and they are ranked according to size.. u have to throw dices in order to eat them.. and if u are lucky .. u eat more! haha the lucky numbers are 4 and 1, coz they are red on the dice.. yeah red symbolises prosperity for chinese so.. ok.. and there are suites u can throw.. like 5 fives will give u a bigger power than a 3 fours or something lidat.. basically i was quite lucky.. won 4 mooncakes all together.. didn't win the most gigantic one though.. the most gigantic one is the scholar's mooncake and the person who wins it apparently has the best luck this yr! haha yup.. that's abt how it goes.. we spent like.. 2 hrs trying to get the winning combination. never knew eating mooncakes can be so tedious. anyway it was real fun .. i am so glad i got to participate! hahaa
last night there was a bit of tension between miranda and me... guess it is becoz i am so darn tired from the day's work.. and miran's side is already 3am.. both of us were simply knocked out.. no productive comments were exchanged... after that i realised my mistake.. apologized.. and e
verything is back to normal.. she means a lot to me.. i hope that these incidents do not put any dents in the relationship at all.. hhahaa i hope she reads this.

basically went for ultimate frisbee tryouts today.. very fun! fast pace game in a super nice place.. hype park simply has a breathtaking view... one side is london eye.. the other is king albert.. superb superb.. it is a fun game i shall say.. fast packed and all.. and i really enjoy it.. except for feeling a bit cold everything's cool.. well the sun is pretty strong but becoz it is so cold.. u don't feel a thing on ur skin at all.. people here may even think the sun is cold!!!! but in sg it is darn hot if u stand in a sun like this..
oh well.. after that i had to build this flying car thing that i believe i spent too much time on.. total waste of time if u ask me... but well.. we got to do what we got to do.. met some pretty nice people in my group.. i am gonna stick to them for tutorials and all next time.. i guess that sld mean something.. yeah.. nothing much happening nowadays..
oh well i settled my bank account alr!! that's damn solid.. and my imperial email is up.. that is power! super solid woo! i guess one lucky thing i don't have to endure now is the haze in singapore... i mean.. everyone back there is suffering.. i am in london breathing in dry cold air.. i sldn't be complaining at all should i? hahaa yeah... that's abt as much as i want to say. till my next blog!

today is freshers fair.. in which there is a war going on in between the clubs as they vye to get as many freshers to join them as possible..there are some pretty cool clubs like IC racing, wakeboarding ( god knows how they wakeboard in this weather) go karting, riding, gliding ( in which u sit in this small little winged thing and fly around without motor or wateva)
and some outrageous one in which they drink.. yes alcohol.. the people look intoxicated inside.. so i guess they are really hardcore.. there is also a daidee club and a mahjong club to join.. pretty interesting i guess..
In the end i settled and joined the ultimate frisbee club, pretty interesting i guess.. sounds good too.. so yeah.. why not? also joined arts soc for the discounts on tickets when i go watch plays.. and also singsoc where all the singaporeans congregate. yup.. pretty decent i thInk..
oh i forgot to mention having a first go at half boiled eggs in the morning.. the first egg was raw.. the second was ya kun standard.. hahaa i am damn good at this man.. well.. breakfast is always good.. easy to prepare .. at night i had a second go at the pasta after heeding advice from mum abt using rice cooker to cook the pasta.. it tastes pretty good! and i am glad i ate that... have a few other side dishes too.. all taste good too! hahaa yUp.. till my next blog then.. maths test tml.. sucks.. what is the world coming to.

021006.. registration for freshers at sherfield... it started at 9.15 with a talk for freshers at the great hall.. which i was late for becoz i was waiting for two guys downstairs and who were in the talk alr.. anyway.. everything proceeded quite smoothly for registration.. not all that fast but at least my day ended at around 4pm.. wanted to meet wesley for dinner but he wasn't free ydae.. so have to postpone it.. oh well.. anyway.. so i took a walk around the neighbourhood in the free time to explore and to get some things done... i re-explored high street kensington, went to the science museum first storey andgot a prepaid card and some groceries for dinner ydae..
my cooking seriously sucks big time.. luckily i didn't take a photo of the pasta i made.. becoz i was so hungry.. i didn't bother to wait for the pasta to soften.. i sampled one and i tot i can bear with it.. oh what a big mistake it was... to endure a whole plate worth of al dante pasta is too much to bear.. hahaa anyway i had dinner and that's it.. another day gone.. arg i forgot to mention again.. i met my tutor too.. he's a brilliant guy.. but he got a speech problem.. i guess all the intellects got their shortcomings.. yUp till tomorrow!!! i love miranda!!!

Second day.. finally dragged my luggage all the way from cromwell road to kenway road.. my apartment is 56A.. oh well.. it wasn't as hard as i expected but nevertheless i was sweating like mad by the time i actually reached here..Livia my flatmate was at home and i gotten my keys.. guess this is gonna be my place to live in for the next 10 mths..
after putting my luggage down..
i proceeded on to imperial for a walkabout conducted by the seniors.. walked down high street kensington and visited argos where i purchased a duvet and a pillow.. thank god i got these.. if not i will just maybe freeze during the night and become a frozen lip in the morning.. yup.. simple day.. but i miss home.. really miss home..
the third day, also shown on the collage above.. early morning after chatting with darling and an initial round of breakfast of slices of bread and blueberry jam.. i went to beit hall and joined benjamin for a bus tour around london, checked out places like the london tower( which is not a tower at all or rather a fortified castle with a grass moat) and the london eye.. pretty neat .. it is now that i truly felt that i am in london, cromwell street with hotels like marriot and holiday inn just cannot arouse my interest as i almost see them everyday in singapore.. i am excited and i wanna explore.. ok... after the bus tour.. went back to school for a freshers fair which was pretty crap except for the food which they provided... proceeded to ikea after that...
took a tube down to green park and then changed to jubilee line to neasden.. pretty neat place to be at.. very residential.. we were supposed to go to the ikea there.. it is humongus.. and everything is pretty cool too.. not to mention the price... well i noticed something.. mini coopers and ferraris seem to be a norm here in london.. are they really that rich?? hahaaa anyway i got a laundry basket and a duvet plus pillow cover bowl and plates.. at ikea i cannot find any decent bowls.. all of them are damn small.. wonder if they ever use a big bowl at all man..
till my next blog.. i am enjoying life! woohoO!

Touchdown.. half an hour before i actually walked down from the plane.. i already told myself.. this is going to be a new chapter in life.. and i am gonna embrace it with open arms.. be ready for anything coming.. yup.. i look forward to it..
routine checks at the airport.. ya da ya da.. followed by us lugging all our luggages onto the tube.. it is pretty good.. except for the fact that the door closes without warning and there is no TUTUTUTUTU, it is as good as the singapore MRT, well a short trip to gloucester station where we alighted and proceeded to cromwell road to spend the first night.. as we don't have any accomodation for the first day itself.. we will proceed to our individual apartments on the second day.. yup.. oh well.. the cromwell apartment was good enough... cosy and not overly small.. i guess that can be put into consideration when searching for apartment next year.. oh i almost forgot to mention, the first dinner here i ate was beef hor fun.. the seniors wanted some chinese food so i guess i have to go along.. it costs 7 pounds here.. 5.50 for the horfun, 1 for the tea and 50 pence for service.. oh well.. that is 21 sing dollars for a dinner that consists of diluted tea, kway tiao fried wif a lot of oil and beansprouts and onions.. pretty ex if u ask me.... haha that about summarises the first day.....

after going through the gate... feelings are mixed beyond measure.. u want to cry but not sad enough, you want to laugh but not happy enough, want to be excited.. but too uncertain to get excited... what lies ahead only time knows..
well first flight from singapore to dubai was pleasant enough, late night in sg so most of the time i sleep.. felt refreshed after 7 hrs of sleep. enough to make me feel good upon reaching dubai..i am so glad that the 6 of us travelled together, william, ziyang, xiufang, ben and fengyi.. u guys were great.. thanks man.. i can tell u how much i appreciate you guys being there.. made me feel
a whole load better.
Dubai was a pleasant airport to be at.. except for the fact that i have to lug around a handcarry which weighs around 15 kg.. everything was ok i guess.. desperately trying in the airport to tap on their wireless networks, at least i managed to drop a few sms-es back to singapore to keep
everyone updated.. esp my darling sunshine.. haha after around 5 hrs transit, we boarded the plane from dubai to heathrow..
on the plane i couldn't sleep.. the rest simply concussed without a second thought... hahaa well i guess i was the only one who slept from singapore to dubai.. maybe that's why.. and it is singapore afternoon time.. how the hell can i sleep man.. hahaa well.. i would rate emirates flight as pretty satisfactory.. the food is alright.. but it just keep coming .. feel bloated throughout the whole journey.. haaa not a bad flight at all..
well.. touched down at heathrow already.. collected our baggage... went thru the usual screening.. fengyi lost his luggage... darn.. well i guess it is alright now.. and.. london beckons..
